NIOS Introduction:-

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) earlier also known as National Open School (NOS) which was established in November, 1989. 

NIOS was established as an autonomous organization in pursuance of the National Policy on Education 1986, by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Government of India. 

NIOS has a number of Vocational, Life Enrichment and community-oriented programmers for their students. 

They also provide serval Non-academic courses apart from General and Academic Courses at Secondary and Senior Secondary level. 

NIOS also has various Elementary level Courses, this is for both Adults above 14 years of age & Children below 14 years of age through its Open Basic Education Programmes (OBE). 

NIOS also examine and certify their learners & students registered with them for pre-degree level courses whether Academic, Technical or Vocational. 

NIOS Courses & Admission:-

NIOS provides both basic education program for Adolescent, Adult & Children and Vocational courses. 
They provide the following Courses:-

1. Secondary & Sr. Secondary: The Academic Department of NIOS provides their students best facilities & also engaged in making a self-learning material, summary & revision of learning materials.

2. Vocational Education: Government of India has taken an initiative for Vocational training & education.  

NIOS is also well aware of the importance of Vocational education and has already taken a number of important steps in this area for their students. 

The objective of the Vocational Education Program of NIOS, is to meet the requirement of skilled and unskilled manpower for the growing organized and unorganized sectors of the economy.

NIOS has the following admission criteria: 

1. Online Application Form:

  1. NIOS has a facility of Online Admission by filling the Application Form Online.  
  • If you want to register for Stream 1 Block 2 for 2022, then you just have to fill a form on the student portal by filling the details like state/UT, your basic details, optional details, subjects you want to take & need to upload the required documents. 
  • In their student portal you can also check the Eligibility Criteria for admission in Secondary & Sr. Secondary education. 
  • You can also check the details regarding: 
  • Important dates regarding admissions for the academic year 2021-22. 
  • Fees structure for Streams 1,2,3 & 4. 
  • The supporting documents required to be uploaded for admission for Secondary & Sr. Secondary education. 
  • Can avail the facility of Transfer of Credit (TOC). 
  • Dual enrollment & Part admission. 

2. On Demand facility:

  1. Under the On Demand Examination System (ODES) of NIOS, the students who want to appear for Secondary level (Stream-3) or Sr. Secondary level (Stream-4), can go for it. 

The On-line admission is open in NIOS throughout the year, for those students who have passed their Secondary Examination from any recognized Board & want to take Part Admission in one subject or up to 4 subjects for completing their education,  

OR for the students who had appeared in the exam but could not clear, or who were eligible but could not appear in any Public Examination of the Secondary level from any recognized Board and again wants to appear through On Demand Examination System of NIOS for the Secondary level only.

NIOS Study Centre List:- 

NIOS has a study center in all states.

NIOS Exam Centre List:-

NIOS allots exam center for 10th & 12th students in every state. 

Every student who wants to appear for 10th & 12th exam in April 2022 can select & check the nearest NIOS exam center from their site. 

The National Institute of Open Schooling allots exam centers to NIOS 10th and 12th class students. NIOS test centers are allotted to students registered for an exam on a first-come-first-served basis. 

Usually, the District Headquarters, Sub-Divisional Headquarters and other available places near the AIs are allocated as NIOS exam centers for the 2022 exam. The complete address of the NIOS test center will be communicated through NIOS admit card 2022 issued before the exam.
